Where is Contained Liverpool based?
We are located on Derby Road, Bootle, Liverpool. The best postcode to use is L20 8EG, which will take you to Campbell Street that runs down the side of our building. We’re just a short drive from Liverpool ONE.

How many people can enter the escape room at once?
All of our games are private escape rooms, so you’ll never be grouped with strangers. Each game requires a minimum of 2 players and can host up to 7 players per session.

Do you have toilet facilities?
Yes, there is one unisex toilet available on-site for customer use.
​
Is there food or drink available?
We don’t serve food, but we do have a fully licensed bar. You can enjoy alcoholic or soft drinks before or after your game, subject to timing and availability.

How long does the escape room experience last?
Each escape room session lasts for 60 minutes. If your team escapes early, your time will end then — but otherwise, you have the full hour to complete your mission.

Are there tight or confined spaces in the games?
Yes. In SNATCHED, our most intense horror escape room, you may need to crawl or hide in confined spaces, some as narrow as 50cm wide. Teams with larger participants may want to limit their group size to four players to ensure comfort.
If this may be an issue, we recommend booking The Exorcist, which offers a spooky but more spacious experience without tight crawl areas.

What is the age limit?
Our games are designed for players aged 15 and over, due to mature content including bad language, graphic scenes, and sexual references. Parents and carers can use their discretion when booking for younger players.
Please note: All teams must include at least one responsible adult aged 18 or over. Our games are built to scare, so they may not be suitable for younger or sensitive players.

Can I get a refund or change my booking?
All bookings are non-refundable and final. We are unable to offer refunds, exchanges, or swaps under any circumstances unless legally required.

Can I reschedule my booking?
We do our best to help, but rescheduling is not always possible and is subject to availability.

You can request a reschedule if you give at least 48 hours' notice

Requests made within 48 hours will only be considered at our discretion

If a short-notice reschedule is approved, a 30% rebooking fee applies to cover the cost of a new session license

Same-day reschedules are not possible

Once your original session time has started, we are unable to reschedule

October peak dates are excluded from all rescheduling options

What if we arrive late?
All players must arrive at least 5 minutes before your game time. This allows for check-in, completing waivers, and the compulsory health and safety briefing.
For example, if your game is booked for 12:00 PM, your group must arrive no later than 11:55 AM.
If you arrive late:

Your game time will be reduced

If you arrive 10 minutes after your booked time, you are already 15 minutes late due to the early arrival requirement

If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, your game will be cancelled with no refund or reschedule
We use a third-party game system that automatically locks the session after 15 minutes, and once it does, we cannot override it. Calling ahead does not exempt you from this policy, so we recommend allowing extra travel time.

Do the rooms use strobe lighting, smoke or loud effects?
Yes. Our horror escape rooms include strobe lights, fog/smoke effects, dark environments, and sudden loud noises. If you have epilepsy, asthma, heart conditions, or other health concerns, please get in touch before booking and we will guide you toward the most suitable experience.
